Neodymium High Power Renovation in Beyma
Following the excellent reception of the market to their 18P1200/Nd, Beyma will be presenting at the PLASA Show a number of innovations.
Another member of the 1200W AES power handling series is the new 15P1200/Nd, the 15” version of its biggest brother, with the same technologies and massive displacement capabilities. This model is, although it has great power handling, of considerable efficiency: (2.5%), 98dB and Fs of 45 Hz. Given the success of the 18”, the need for a 15” was in response to demand from costumers aiming to put the incredible performance of the 18P1200/Nd in a more compact format. It will be ready for mass production in October.
The new family P1000/Nd, for applications where reliability, low weight and long stroke are required, but limited to 1000W, AES has created an “entry level” with the new high power Beyma Neodymium woofer components. The series will be a new 18”, a 15” and a very interesting 12”, all of them with fibre reinforced cones as their bigger brothers from the P1200/Nd series, and with same reliability and performance. They will have 96dB, 2% efficiency and resonance frequencies between 40 and 45 Hz. This family will benefit from the technologies already developed: double conex spider, mechanical mirror suspension, under-pole magnet topology and forced air convection cooling system. The P1000/Nd should be possible to order in November.
Last but not least, Beyma continues introducing additions in the SM Series, where price/performance relationship is the main directive. Two new models are included: a small compression Nd driver, the SMC225/Nd, with 1.75” voice coil, 1” exit. This compact driver has a sensitivity of 108dB and 80W Program power handling, together with a recommended cross-over frequency of 1.5kHz. The polyester dome gives a non-aggressive timbre and the frequency response is nearly flat without processing.
The new SM112/W, is a 12” woofer designed for sub applications in compact boxes. The suspension and displacement are designed to work in the lowest range from 40 to 200Hz without problem. With a power handling of 400W AES and 96dB, this model is perfect for compact and discrete subs in the installation market.
