PALM India Expo 2006 Success
The recent PALM India Expo 2006, into its sixth year, finally matured as an international standard expo, report the organisers. 7000 sqare metres of exhibit space made the PALM India 2006 Expo the largest exhibition on Musical Instruments (MI), Pro Audio, Lighting, Live Sound, Stage and Disco Lasers, AV installation for Integrated Systems, DJ Gear and FM Radio Broadcast. The complete pro audio industry was present in vibrant and classic international expo atmosphere, and the organisation was truly ‘international standard’.
The uniqueness of the PALM India Expo is in the seamless blend of the pro audio and music production segment and the musicians, musical instruments, and hold your breath . . the live sound and sound reinforcement segment. If it wasn’t for all these segments it would not have been as big a show as it was, covering nearly 7000sq m of carpeted exhibit floor space. The visitor turn out reported by the organisers was "nearly 9000+", up 22% from last year when the show was first held at the current venue, which is located in the heart of Bollywood, so to speak, just a stones throw away from the world famous Film City, and most of the recording and film studios in the Mumbai suburbs.
Kudos to Pro Sound Systems magazine, which was born from Studio Systems in the interest of the Pro Sound industry for establishing the only expo in India for the pro audio, live sound and musicians (PALM), at a proper exhibition venue on the lines of the IBC, NAB, NAMM, Musik Messe, Broadcast Asia etc. All the exhibitors were on the same exhibit floor and with a height that provided fantastic booth design and most important the seamless flow of visitors across the entire exhibition area - a massive cafeteria, a meeting point plaza, laser show, meeting rooms and 12 rows of registration.
