Vieta Celebrates Innovation Award

There were celebrations in Barcelona last week, as Nacho Alberdi returned home from London with a special PLASA Award for Innovation to share with his Vieta team.

Presented by the UK's Professional Lighting And Sound Association (PLASA) at the annual London show, the Award was given to Vieta for its revolutionary new wireless loudspeaker series, the So Line, and was one of only three awards given to audio product development.

The Innovation Awards are intended to recognise the essential quality of innovation in the fields represented by PLASA - lighting, sound, engineering, AV and staging for entertainment, presentation and installation. At the special Awards ceremony, attended by special guest Sir George Martin, eight awards were presented in recognition of the impressive design and development work going on across the industry.

The Award recognises the considerable achievement of the Vieta Pro team, led by MD Nacho Alberdi and product designers Jordi Hernandez and Josep Tressera, in bringing the So Line successfully to market in just one year.

The So Line is a range of uniquely-styled speakers and accessories which uses wireless technology and state-of-the-art battery power to provide clear, controllable sound in situations where conventional speaker systems cannot. The range is built around the So Cube, a stylish omni-directional loudspeaker design that is compact (just 9 inches tall on its battery stand), active and battery-powered, in other words completely wireless. Coupled with a range of So accessories, such as pedestal stands, stackable extension units, and professional 16-channel wireless transmitter stations, the So Cube offers extreme versatility for a wide variety of sound reinforcement applications.
