Outline’s Training Academy for Brit Row’s PA Men
Outline professional audio has opened its training academy in Brescia, Italy. The growing popularity of Outline’s Butterfly line array has meant that opening the academy and giving a formal qualification for students that pass the informative and rigorous modules is now part of the sale - announces Giorgio Biffi (international sales director).
“Following sales to a number of high profile clients, we realised that it was a good idea to open a training facility here in Italy as we have all the engineers available to convey and answer any technical questions that our customers may ask, we can also show them our manufacturing process from start to finish,” he said.
The course, which lasts for two days, contains theory and practical modules and culminates in a formal qualification allowing the engineer to use our propriety software (V.I.P.) and gain an envied accreditation known as VIPA. For riggers Outline offers the SYSTEC accreditation thus recognising their contribution to the live arena and allowing them to rig and fly Outline Butterfly both safely and effectively.
The first students through the new facility were some of the world’s most respected engineers who were sent by Britannia Row Productions to qualify for using Butterfly. They includes: Sherif El-Barbari (Robbie Williams), Robin Lopez (BJork, Roger Waters at Hyde Park Calling), Derrick Zeiba (Brit Awards, Classical Brits, Hall of Fame, MTV Music Awards Copenhagen), Richard Trow, Gerald Fradley, Dorus Hommels, Christopher Peters (Robbie Williams), Daniel Ungaretti (The Roundhouse), Adam Williams, Nico Royan, Jonathan Dunlop, Michael Gibbard, Aron Ross (Cliff Richard), Dave Poynter (The Foo Fighters, Jamiroquai), Andreas Andreou (Robbie Williams), Paul Gardiner, Ian Barfoot, Davide Lombardi (Mobos, UKHOF, MTV Music Awards Copenhagen) and Adam Smith (Mobos, UKHOF, MTV Music Awards Copenhagen).
Outline report that all the engineers gave Outline the thumbs up on the training that they received.
