Warsaw Goes Trendy with grandMA Video

Staged in Agrykola Park near Ujazdowski Palace, the mini-festival ‘Warsaw is Trendy’ demonstrated the richness of the city's culture. During the event the popular polish artist ‘Kayanis’ performed with his musicians from the Music Academy Gdansk and the choir of the University of Gdansk. “In total 110 people were on stage at the same time!” Lighting for the concert was looked after by Pawel Pajak, who relied on one grandMA full-size, one grandMA light and also grandMA video which was used to control the LED panels.
“I decided to use grandMA video because of its full compatibility with the grandMA control desks, the ease of creating video images on the LED panels, plus adding and editing image effects,” explained Pajak. “It’s great because you can program the video and lighting simultaneously and then trigger the cues with the master console and add something to the cues in ‘live mode’. You can use most of the video formats so it gives a lot of possibilities to create video images you want to use in a show.”
The lighting rig included 24 Clay Paky Alpha Spot 1200s, 42 Clay Paky Alpha Wash 575s, 42 Xeos StripLed 800s and 24 Xeos Matrix LED panels.
Special guest stars at the festival were ‘Brainstorm’, a band from Latvia and ‘Coma’, a polish band. Lighting co-programmer and operator was Tomasz Szwelicki. The operator for Brainstorm was Armands Skels. Lighting equipment was supplied by TSE (Poland), and A&O Lighting (Germany).
