LTM Latest Motor School

Lift-Turn-Move (LTM) hosted its latest two-day Motor School last week at their Wirral, Merseyside HQ.

It was attended by 16 people, representing a much broader cross section of the industry than the standard motor school usually do, along with many international participants. Companies represented included StageCo, ICRC, Outback Rigging, Kanlite and PRG, J & C Joel with clients from Russia, Australia, France, Belgium and Ireland, along with several from around the UK.

Attendees stayed overnight in Liverpool – renowned for its great nightlife. LTM’s central Birkenhead location proved its convenience once again - just a 10 minute hop on the Merseyrail train from Liverpool city centre.

A stream of positive comments followed after the two-day course that has been designed to offer a comprehensive technical overview of the CM Lodestar motor and its workings. Attendee Ian Betts said: ‘’The course was excellent and it was also great to catch up with the other people and share ideas and thoughts.”

The course was presented in tandem by LTM’s Dave Ward and John Jones in LTM’s specially designed training room.

Says Jones: “Motor Schools continue to be hugely popular and in high demand.” He adds that the company intend to keep holding three or four per year at their Wirral HQ in addition to their special on-site Motor Schools that can be arranged.

Topics covered included stripping and rebuilding motors, troubleshooting, common problems, the effect of rain and other environmental elements, double braking and operational practicalities like the correct use of chain bags.

Dave Ward concentrated on the more technical subjects, while John Jones discussed general motor, rigging, industry issues and product support.

LTM caps the cost of the courses as much as possible and also treats everyone to a wild night out in Liverpool, demonstrating traditional Scouse hospitality first-hand!

Jones has noticed a real change in attitudes in recent years compared to earlier motor schools in which he’s been involved: “It was clear that people really want to learn, and they keep coming up with plenty of interesting, well constructed and relevant questions.”

The next one is planned for January 29th and 30th at LTM.
