RCF’s TT+ Teams up with LiteStructures LiteMast

RCF’s TT+ Teams up with LiteStructures LiteMast

With Line Arrays now a common tool amongst most touring rental companies, their next investment usually has to be in infrastructure for their system in the form of cabling and more often than not a ground support system.

The options for ground support systems are pretty limited and often come down to individual choice, as they’re all very similar. That was before LiteStructures entered the party with their new LiteMast, which they claim is “not just another mast”. The company's team has thought about its design and how it will work out in the field. Now they have come up with an innovative system that not only works from a suspension point of view but more importantly works from a logistics and set-up angle as well.

After speaking with various companies about what works and more to the point, what doesn’t from other masts, they then approached speaker manufacturers direct about their various systems. The result is that LiteStructures have re-invented the mast with their unique ProBase system which works in place of the standard fixed angled corner joint. The ProBase incorporates universal mountings for chain hoists allowing one person to locate and fix the hoist in position rather than two which most other systems require. Another key point to the ProBase is the all round hinged corners - these allow the unit to be folded down for shipping with out the need to fully disassemble the mast, aiding load-in and load-out time.

RCF’s Greg Oliver, who assisted the LiteStructures team with information on speaker systems and other ground support systems that are being used out in the field at the moment comments: “Having known the guys at LiteStructures for some time, I met with Lee Brooks at the ABTT Show to discuss the possibility of them producing a V Mast. Many of our customers have been looking to purchase various systems, but all of them have issues about the way they perform and the cost. The LiteMast isn’t just another ground support system, it actually works and assists you in suspending your speaker system, reducing load times and labour, which ultimately saves money. It’s lightweight yet stronger than equivalent designs with full structural approvals, another key issue for UK based companies. LiteStructures are also a UK based company allowing faster response times should one have any issues or need a slightly customized LiteMast.”

Lee Brooks added: "RCF's support was extremely important to this project, and by listening to manufacturers as well as end users, we're confident that we've been able to bring something new, innovative and genuinely useful to the professional sound support market."

Oliver concludes: “I got a call from Lee days before PLASA 07 and he said that they would be showing the LiteMast at the show and did we have a system we could suspend from it? We supplied them four modules of the RCF TTL33-A - Active Line Array for the show, to allow customers to actually visualize what it would look like. The Black gloss finish on the show mast looked great and really caught the eye of passers by.”
