Blitz Go Dancing in the Streets
Blitz is helping another touring production of Dancing in the Streets to dance around the UK during its nationwide run. Blitz will bring classic Motown music to each audience using the highest quality sound technology.
Blitz has been commissioned by sound designer Ben Harrison to provide a complete touring sound system from its extensive and wide ranging stock. They are providing a D&B C7 speaker system which is designed to provide a high quality, versatile solution to the problem of working in a wide variety of venues. Clearly, microphone choice is critical therefore Blitz is supplying 14 Sennheiser 3072 handheld radio mics with 1046 receivers for maximum reliability and quality in projecting the Motown hits seamlessly across the theatre. The PM5D live sound console has taken the digital revolution in theatre to a new level with its compact footprint and reliability. Blitz is dedicated to ensuring that all
equipment compliments each other to provide a high quality experience for the audience.
Ben Harrison explains: "Dancing in the Streets celebrates classic anthems by the likes of The Supremes, Marvin Gaye, The Temptations and many other soul musicians and the systems have to complement the music to ensure the best visual and audio experience for the audience. Blitz is passionate about theatre and this is conveyed not only in their technical expertise, but also in their commitment to supplying reliable and high quality equipment."
Chris Jordan, head of theatre at Blitz explains: "Blitz is immensely proud of its rich history of providing advanced technical staging solutions to the theatre and Dancing in the Streets has allowed us to prove our expertise in this area once again. Having worked on this production in the West End and the previous tour, we knew what a truly remarkable experience and atmosphere the show should deliver to its audience and high quality sound plays a huge part in bringing Motown to life. Blitz has taken great care towards ensuring it is using the most appropriate technology available which compliments a show which is stacked full of soul memories and classic anthems."
