Christie Appoints George D. Scheckl, Jr. Director of International Business Development

Scheckel was a key member of the management team at QuVIS (Quality Visual Information Systems) for the past eleven years, most recently as Vice President of Digital Cinema & Business Development. He joins Christie with extensive experience in all aspects of Digital Cinema pilots, products and rollouts, focusing on advancing digital imaging technology with movie studios and other key customers. He brings strong relationships with leading industry production, post-production and studio operations in addition to 21 years experience in sales management and service operations from the telecommunications industry.
“George is a tremendous talent and resource for our organisation and I’m delighted to have him spearheading our international efforts,” remarked Craig Sholder, vice president of Entertainment Solutions, Christie Digital Systems USA, Inc. “His expertise will enhance Christie’s position as a leader in end-to-end Digital Cinema solutions and help direct the Entertainment Solutions division in our ongoing deployment business plans.”
Commenting on his appointment, Scheckel added: “Christie is a trusted and reputable name in the industry and I’m looking forward to building on this tradition. The company’s expanding global presence is a testament to the quality and reliability of Christie systems. I’m excited about helping to drive growth in new and emerging markets internationally.”
Scheckel participates as a panelist and speaker at trade conferences and expositions, as well as consults on digital imaging hardware and software applications worldwide. These include Digital Cinema, 3D, fixed site installations, post-production, content production and image distribution. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Washburn University in Topeka, Kansas.
