Infinite Plasma for Auto Trader Used Car Awards

Television viewers and diners experienced a state-of-the-art presentation at the inaugural Auto Trader Used Car Year Awards with the help of the visually impressive Infinite Plasma screen supplied by trade AV rental specialists PSCo.
The ceremony celebrated the year’s most popular used cars, as voted for by visitors to the Auto Trader website and viewers of ITV 4’s the Used Car Roadshow, while the event was hosted by the television show’s presenters Jason Dawe and Penny Mallory.
The Infinite Plasma was the ideal presentation solution for the producers of the awards, Fuel Integrated Communications Ltd. The brand communications agency has been working with Auto Trader for over two years. Speaking about the inception of the Auto Trader Awards in 2006, Fuel Integrated’s brand strategy director Steve Tolton said: “There were plenty of motoring awards schemes voted for by journalists, but nothing representing the seven million people in the UK who buy and drive used cars. These unique ‘people awards’ are a vital element in Auto Trader’s market leadership role as the UK’s consumer motoring champion.”
The event itself took place at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole Hotel and, with ITV 4’s outside broadcasting crew on site, space was at a premium. The Infinite Plasma screen offered the highest possible resolution images for the lowest physical footprint. With its almost seamless display, the screens provide high quality performance at a lower cost than equivalent LED options.
“I’ve worked with PSCo for many years,” says Steve. “They’re very switched on and I like their ’can do’ mentality. For the awards they provided me with plenty of the right information and were happy to liaise directly with the outside broadcast unit on a technical level.”
“The Infinite Plasma is the ideal presentation tool for organisers of televised award ceremonies,” says PSCo’s Stuart Holmes. “The virtually seamless screen makes for a comfortable viewing experience, while the organiser benefits from space savings not available to projection systems.” Additionally, PSCo crew were on hand to calibrate the screen at set up, ensuring the perfect colour balance, and remained available throughout the show to provide any necessary additional technical support.
