Megaforce Chooses Alcons

After thorough tests and a shoot-out with the final three selected systems, Mark Liese and the Megaforce team from Weingarten, Germany chose Alcons.
With a substantial amount of Alcons pro-ribbon line-arrays, Megaforce has become the latest Ribbon Network member (Alcons’ global dry-hire network, with the highest degree of standardisation) in Germany. The initial order contained no less than 36 LR16s, 12 LR14s, ALC2 and ALC4 amplified loudspeaker controllers, all fitted with Digital Drive Processors (DDP), including all transport and flying logistics.
Mark Liese, MD of Megaforce, said: “Alcons offers us a compact, high-resolution full-range system, which we can use for almost, if not all, applications we encounter. It is absolutely convincing in terms of sound, handling and overall built-quality.”
Megaforce is a large, full-service rental company, with focus on corporate events. Located in the south of Germany, not surprisingly, Megaforce handles a lot of car industry events. An enormous inventory of truss, stages, sound and lighting equipment highlights the full-service ability of the company.
Liese continues: “Already the first tests on our premises convinced us, with minimal EQing and a remarkable high gain-before-feedback. This substantial audio investment marks a very important step for Megaforce and we’re happy to be part of the fast-growing Alcons users network.“
Torsten Hagedorn, Megaforce’s project manager, audio commented: “Very surprising is the accurate throw this system offers. I could hardly believe it when we did the first gig. The event, with top act Nena + band, was staged in a 150m/450ft tent for 13,000 people. Without having used the system in a real event before, all doubts disappeared when the first sounds were heard. Even above 100 metres, the sound stereo image was still ‘wide’ and in the face. And in a tent!“
Carsten Albrecht, support engineer Alcons Germany commented: “I’m proud to have a strong partner like Megaforce on board and with this strategically expand our Ribbon Network in southern Germany.“
