Parliamentary Visit for Stage Electrics
Stage Electrics attended the parliamentary launch of the partnership between The Association of Colleges (AOC) and Skills for Business on October 23rd.
Training manager Sara Alarabi accompanied by business development managers Andrew Sugg and Darren Beckley were the invited guests of Bridgwater College. The event was designed as an opportunity to find out the government’s plans for ‘Skills for Business Training’ and in particular new technical theatre training that comes under the umbrella of the creative and cultural skills sector.
Sara Alarabi commented: “It is advantageous that that the government are giving employers the chance to shape qualifications for the industry. This means that Stage Electrics can be involved in determining the training for the next generation of staff in the technical entertainment industry.”
David Forde section leader for Music and Performing Arts from Bridgwater College added: “This is a brilliant opportunity for both the industry and for educational institutions like Bridgwater College alike. Working with a business leader like Stage Electrics means that we can develop accredited training opportunities that are designed by the industry and help develop the real range of skills required by the business. We are really excited by this enhanced opportunity for our students and thrilled that Stage Electrics shares our passion and vision for education and training.”
