The Martin lighting that RML have supplied Maidstone Studios with LC 2140 Video panels, Maxedia Compact, Exterior 200 Wash and Exterior 1200 Image Projector.
Steve Wells from RML was pleased to support Maidstone Studios. He commented: “Maidstone Studios are good people to do business with and I hope to be working more with them in 2008.”
2007 has been a year of transition for Maidstone Studios. They have moved their business model from being known as a centre of children’s TV programmes to becoming a big centre for light entertainment. In the past year they have moved away from having only a limited number of clients in mainly the children’s sector to between 10 and 20 light entertainment projects including the likes of Eurovision ‘Making Your Mind Up’ BBC Comedy Entertainment, The Trisha Goddard Show, Townhouse TV for Channel 5, Dale’s Supermarket Sweep for ITV 1 and 1 vs. 100 (Dermot O’Leary National Lottery Show) for BBC 1.
On a local note, Kenton Oxley from Maidstone Studios commented: “It’s about showing what the local area can achieve with the efforts of two local businesses; we hope that our Christmas lights will become a local landmark for years to come.” Nationally it’s about launching the LC panels in readiness for a number of light entertainment projects booked for 2008 for a range of international broadcasters. It’s a chance to show what they can do for TV.”
Kenton concluded: “The Society of Television Lighting Directors were all invited and were pleased to be supporting them again. A number of lighting directors we work with also came down.”
