HK Install at Xscape's '50fifty' Bar

For the launch of their ‘50fifty' concept, the newest bar at Castleford’s 'Xscape' indoor snow slope and leisure complex, operating company SNO!zone called on the services of JWS to design and install an audio, visual and lighting solution capable of enhancing the chilled-out vibe of their Alpine-themed venue.
The ambience of the bar may be chilled thanks to facilities which include plasma screens and real log fires, but the technical requirements were somewhat more demanding. A primary need was identified for a very versatile, high quality audio system, equally adept at providing daytime background music from CD, through to serious late night vinyl DJ’ing - as well as having the ability to shine with a variety of ongoing live performance requirements.
Normanton-based AV install specialists, JWS, being fully conversant with HK Audio thanks to the arsenal of HK rigs in their own hire inventory, looked immediately to HK’s Installation Line to provide the solution.
Three HK IL12.1 (12”/1”) enclosures were selected for their ability to provide the necessary clarity and accuracy for the wide-ranging programme material, augmented by two IL118 (1 x 18”) subs skillfully housed in custom enclosures supplied to blend with the décor. A fourth IL12.1 is invisibly concealed in the ceiling just outside the venue entrance, cunningly designed to alert and entice passers-by in through the doors!
