d&b Networks at SIEL 2007

At this year's SIELl in Paris exhibition d&b audiotechnik once again had a typically visual and highly colourful stand on which to introduce its expanded Remote network. Comprising the new d&b R60 USB to CAN interface, the recently released ROPE C Version 2.0.7 remote software for PC platforms and last but by no means least the d&b D12 and E-PAC amplifiers.

The d&b R60 USB to CAN interface is designed to connect the d&b Remote network to a PC and comes with drivers for WindowsR operating systems. The ROPE C Version 2.0.7 permits the use of up to five R60 interfaces with one computer enabling a maximum of five hundred and three amplifiers into one system design. This latest software version of ROPE C also offers the ability to control and monitor d&b loudspeaker systems in much greater detail at the amplifier level, via its graphical drag and drop interface. Grouping d&b's amplifier functions is the key to reduce system complexity, while where necessary the full detailed control of the d&b loudspeaker systems is possible from only one surface, be it for live or installed applications. Also on show and by no means taking a remote part was d&b's J-Series line array system that was launched to great acclaim at last year's SIEL. The recently introduced M4 stage monitor was also exhibited for the first time in France as well as d&b's renowned Q-Series loudspeaker range.

Didier Lubin who heads up d&b's French office commented: "In times when sound reinforcement systems get ever more complex and the number of amplifiers keeps growing, it is not always easy to keep track of all the devices within a system, and this is where the d&b Remote network really comes into its own. The recent Marco Borsato shows in Holland are perfect examples, where over one hundred d&b J-Series loudspeakers were grouped and controlled using the d&b Remote network."
