Selecon at RADA: Prototypes, Pinot and Professionals

A Selecon event for Theatre Consultants and Lighting Designers will take place on Tuesday 20th February at the GBS Studio at RADA in Malet Street, London (4pm to 7pm).

If you can spare a few hours from your busy schedule join Selecon, and mix and mingle with staff and like-minded theatre professionals whilst taking a look at most of the Selecon product range in a theatre environment, rather than under hard fluorescent lighting of a noisy tradeshow venue.

You will have the opportunity to handle equipment and ask your questions about the Arena Theatre Fresnel, a Pacific 45-75 Zoomspot, the Pacific Dowser dimming accessory or how the fast focus technology of the Rama actually works. Feedback and discussion is not only more than welcome but will be encouraged!

Selecon will also be showing a prototype 80V 1200W Fresnel against our more conventional 1200W and 2kW luminaires and need you to tell us whether or not it should be put into production. It will be a great chance to get in the ground floor of luminaire research and development – could this be a lighting tool that would benefit, assist or solve a problem for you?

The event will also provide the opportunity to get your hands on the new Selecon Performer Series Rua Followspot (9º–16º), the very same followspot that created such a buzz at last year’s PLASA having been eagerly operated from the balcony of NZ House into Prime Minister, Tony Blair’s backyard (505m) resulting in a visit from his security team.

“It’s the intensity that everyone notices first,” says Tony Priestly, chief electrician at the Lyric Theatre, referring to the astoundingly bright light levels delivered by the Rua Followspot, selected by lighting designer Jean Kalman for ‘Cabaret’, currently on stage in the West End and soon to be installed at the Grove Theatre, Dunstable.

In appreciation for taking the time (and Selecon promise no armed security personnel in flak jackets at this event!) you will be thanked with a bottle of great New Zealand wine to take home - so for once you’ll have a trophy to show for being late home from work!

Please RSVP to David Wilkins, Selecon’s UK sales manager - dwilkins@seleconlight.com by the 16th February 2007.
