Soundcraft Studer Group at Pro Light + Sound

The highlight of this year's display of audio mixing consoles from the Soundcraft Studer Group will in fact be the smallest item on the stand. In appearance, an insignificant DSP card. In reality, a magic key that opens the door to powerful industry-standard Lexicon effects and BSS Audio equalisation for Soundcraft's new Vi6 digital console.
The much-anticipated Processor Card uses eight custom Lexicon DSP engines to give a choice of 14 types of reverb, including various plates, halls and spring types, seven delay settings (for example ping-pong and tape delays) plus eight other effects such as Chorus, Flanger, Tremelo and Pitch shift. It will also provide a 30-band graphic EQ on every output, making the Soundcraft Vi6 the only digital console on the market with such integrated processing devices.
Sister company Studer will be showing its latest addition to the internationally successful Vista Series of digital consoles. The compact Vista 5 will be teamed with the new SCore Live DSP platform, which has brought unprecedented DSP power within reach of the smaller budget. As it is user-configurable, customers can buy what they need for today without compromising future production requirements.
Outside the digital domain, there is plenty of choice and innovation in the Soundcraft range. On display will be the latest addition to the Soundcraft GB Series; aimed at the installation and AV market, the GB2 features four group busses, configured as two stereo subgroups and an integral 6x2 matrix. Also on show: the MPM Series of multipurpose mixers intended for a wide range of applications that includes fixed installation, Houses of Worship, portable PA use and music production. With a focus on high performance the Soundcraft MPM mixers are available in two standard models with 12 or 20 mono inputs, each model featuring two stereo inputs, two groups and three auxes.
