Winkler AG Invests in Movecat Equipment
Based in Wohlen (Switzerland) but operating throughout Europe, the media service provider Winkler Veranstaltungstechnik AG has just brought its kinetic equipment up to date by investing in equipment from Movecat (distributed by Think Abele). Winkler now has available 20 VMK-S 500-24 hoists, a low-noise model with noiseless brakes, and 20 V-Motion 30 power packs for motors up to 3kW. The VMK-S hoists have a capacity of 500 kg, raise and lower their loads at speeds of from 0 to 20 metres per minute, and as a closed loop system are capable of achieving a genuine hovering state as well as reversing the run direction without incursion of the brakes.
The two Expert-T controllers used here, which are also from Movecat, were developed for the systemic control of kinetic drives in complex projects where up to 240 fixed- or variable-speed drives may be in use simultaneously. The selected combination makes it possible to realize intelligent and safe, variable-speed hoisting systems of the highest technical quality complying with BGV C1 and SIL 3.
The VMK hoists from Movecat are notable for their innovative features, ultra-flexible handling and conformity with the highest safety standards A thermo-sensor, for example, is constantly monitoring the operating temperature of the motor, and no friction clutch is required by VMK hoists as an overload protection, so closed linkage and positive locking between the motor and load are guaranteed at all times.
For the VMK-S hoists, a high-resolution incremental encoder ensures positioning accurate to the nearest +/- 1 mm or better and therefore precise target runs with maximum repetitional accuracy. A dynamic load measurement system is integrated to protect against both excessive and insufficient loads.
