Adlib Audio Provide JBL Speakers For Nine Inch Nails

US rock band Nine Inch Nails is currently touring the UK and Europe with a JBL Professional VerTec line array sound system, distributed by Harman Pro UK and supplied by Liverpool-based Adlib Audio.

The tour, which kicked off in Portugal in February, will see the band playing a variety of venues in the UK, Spain, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland, The Netherlands and Scandinavia before it moves to Australia and the Far East over the Summer.

Andy Dockerty, head of Adlib Audio, says: “The JBL VerTec line array was specified by the band’s front of house sound engineer, Pete Keppler, who wanted to replicate the system he’d been using for their US tour. We have worked with Pete on several occasions in the past and he is always happy with the service he receives from us.”

As the long-time front of house engineer for artists such as David Bowie, Keppler is well-equipped to handle the dynamic, and often unpredictable, productions for which Nine Inch Nails has earned its reputation. The system he specified includes an arrangement of JBL VerTec VT4889 full-sized line arrays on either side of the stage, augmented by VT4888 compact line arrays and VT4880 line array subwoofers.

JBL’s VerTec Series is ideal for covering medium to large audience areas where consistent coverage is important. The system is especially suitable for presenting live music in acoustically-difficult venues and can work equally well in smaller indoor facilities or over large distances in outdoor situations.

Adlib Audio, which began as a small PA company in 1984, has grown into an extensive resource for providing sound, lighting and audio visual solutions. The company holds in excess of 120 VerTec cabinets and over 100 Crown 5002’s and the new I Tech 8000’s, which it supplies to a diverse range of clients for both indoor and outdoor events.
