Alcons at Frankfurt Pro Light + Sound 2007

Exhibiting for the fifth time in their existence, Alcons Audio will be present at the ProLight & Sound show with a number of novelties, including an interesting “design-study”.

Extending the line-up of the B-series, the BF151 is a new, front-loaded bass system, for both permanent and portable applications. Featuring a single 15” long-excursion high-power woofer (with vented double-spider frame), in combination with Alcons’ proprietary Signal Integrity Sensing pre-wiring, the BF151 delivers high quality, tight and accurate bass response.

Highlight on the Alcons stand is the Digital Drive Processor, DDP. The exchangeable processing device is complementary to the Alcons ALC controller-amplifiers and caters for improved ease-of-use in the handling and controlling of Alcons sound systems - every Alcons system and system configuration can be found in the DDP library, and a very important step forward in Alcons’ “system synergy” philosophy.

The very successful LR14 ultra-compact line-array system will receive a new brother: the LR14/90. This is a new ultra-compact pro-ribbon line-array with a 90 x 15 degree projection. Loaded with the Alcons RBN401 pro-ribbon driver, with the patented Real-90 horizontal dispersion and double 6.5” woofers, the total weight is only 15kg/33lb., with which the LR14/90 has one of the best “throw-to-size/weight” ratios in the industry.

Another main showing will be the QB363. Featuring a triple-12” array-configuration, the QB363 acts as a modular low-end extension of the QR-series pro-ribbon column arrays. With the similar front shape of the QR36 and QM36, this bass system operates completely within the acoustic line-array parameters, resulting in perfect projection control. The modular principle enables vertical (or even horizontal) tight bass arrays up to or even beyond 10 metres.

A selection of other Alcons products will be on show, including the QR36 ribbon-array columns, the LR16 pro-ribbon line-array, now performing in the Theater am Potzdammerplatz in Berlin and the LR14 ultra-compact ribbon line-array, which was installed in the Stuttgarter Staatsoper.
