KV2 EX6 to be Launched at Pro Light+Sound

KV2 Audio will be exhibiting their full range of products at this year’s Frankfurt Pro Light & Sound Exhibition including new arrivals in all their product ranges. They will also feature a live outdoor demonstration of their now legendary VHD System.

The new EX6 will be launched at the show, complementing the EX Series and completing this active driven range of high end powered enclosures. The EX6 is a very high quality compact speaker system producing a two-way full-range solution which defies its size. With amazing clarity for speech and musical reproduction the EX 6 is perfect for discreet installations or audio visual presentations where sound quality is paramount but size still matters.

Equally at home as a high end studio monitoring solution the EX 6 features state of the art components including the KV2 1” NVPD compression driver, Trans Coil 6” woofer and complete on board control with electronic crossovers, phase alignment, equalization and speaker protection integrated into the EX6’s amplifier module.

Precisely selected amplifier topologies have been designed to deliver 200 watts of total power through a unique LF amplifier designed for perfect control of the woofer, working alongside an HF amplifier implementing a discreet, classic Class AB push-pull topology with Intermodulation Distortion (IMD) restricting output transformer.

No other comparable speakers can match the performance and resolution of the EX Series - the beauty of an active loudspeaker design in which the amplifiers are perfectly matched to the transducers and every component is optimized, this isn’t a ‘bolt-on’ amplified solution.

New to the ES Series is the ES 2.6 subwoofer - essentially an 8 ohm version of the ES 2.5. The ES 2.5 (4 ohms) and ES 2.6 (8 ohms) are double fifteen inch, high output subwoofers designed to compliment the ES Series speaker system. Using new concepts in twin asymmetrical acoustic chambers they deliver very high speaker loading and intense output from a relatively small cabinet footprint. Reproducing low frequencies with very high transient content they are ideal for use in live applications or as part of a five way ES Series system utilising VHD 1.21’s. Together with the ES 1.0 and EPAK 2500/R, the ES 2.5/2.6 delivers the highest dynamic range of any other comparable system providing new levels of clarity, depth and resolution. By having an eight ohm version of the subwoofer available it means that you can now drive two ES 2.6’s from a single EPAK 2500/R expanding the range of systems available in the ES Series making it the most versatile system available in its class.

The VHD range is further enhanced by the arrival of the VHD 1.0 down-fill enclosure giving the user extended coverage from a flown VHD 2.0 system in situations that require it. Featuring the same revolutionary, 3” Nitride Titanium diaphragm compression driver as the VHD 2.0 but on a wide angle 110° horizontal by 40° vertical horn, the VHD 1.0 down-fill enclosure also features a single 12” low mid and single 8” mid range speaker taken from the VHD 2.0.

Powered as a slave from the VHD 2.0 cabinet’s output, or directly from the VHD 2000 amplifier, all equalization, set up and level are preset providing a plug and play solution for large scale touring and high quality installations. Alternatively as a stand-alone box up to three VHD 1.0’s can be powered from a single VHD 2000 amplifier.

KV2 will again be participating in the Live Sound Forum - an outdoor listening area where you will be able to experience the VHD System to its full at distances of around 60m away. Eight manufacturers will be displaying their systems for listening tests, and the VHD system will be playing at 1.00pm and 5.30 pm each day for 30 minutes each time.
