DVS Series: Six models, latest release

Outline’s multi-purpose DVS range (pictured) now has a total of six models (of which two are sub woofers). High-end reproduction, great directivity control, quality finish and an astonishing headroom in spite of the dimensions, help to make it the Italian manufacturer’s best seller. It is ideal for conventional applications (theatres, clubs, etc.), but also for use along with Outline line-arrays, on ‘in-fill’, ‘front-fill’ and ‘near-field’ duty, as is the case with the large international rental firms that use the Butterfly system. A wide range of accessories is also available.

Mini-COMPASS

Ultra-compact and a close relative of the COM.P.A.S.S. – the first-ever robotised loudspeaker enclosure and winner of the prestigious Award for Product Innovation at London's PLASA Show – Mini-COM.P.A.S.S. is a self-powered loudspeaker system for stand-alone use or combined with a series of other elements to form a vertical line array. Fitted with four 5” mid-woofers and two compression drivers with a 1.75” diaphragm coupled with two D.P.R.W.G. wave-guides, Mini COM.P.A.S.S. enables users to adjust its directivity on the horizontal plane from 60° to 150° (even asymmetrically) with mechanical steps of 15° per side in relation to the axis. Four presets can be recalled by users for each single step set, in order to have 16 different combinations of horizontal dispersion, thus ensuring users a wide range of coverage. Mini-COM.P.A.S.S. can be remote-controlled by means of an (optional) wireless kit, as can all Outline products with on-board DSP. The mechanics of the flying system offer the necessary precision for the possible adjustments with a resolution of 0.5° per step between elements in the line array on the vertical plane, in spite of the capacity being over-sized compared to the load. The system is not motorised and is mounted like a traditional line array, but users can adjust dispersion manually in a precise easy manner even after it has been mounted, in order to obtain the required solid angle for acoustic coverage of audiences even after flying.

LAB 15

A unique subwoofer combining hi-fi quality with professional reliability, this hybrid system features both a waveguide and indirect radiation. It uses a single15” woofer with a 100mm voice coil and is able to handle 1,000W. The ingenious acoustic ‘architecture’ features two suitably tuned ports – one on the front and the other on the rear – which ensure a considerable increase of sound pressure over the frequency range. The results can be summed up by the following figures: 134 dB/1m continuous SPL (140 peak) with a frequency range of from 33 to 170 Hz (-10dB). LAB 15 weighs 50 kilograms and measures 86 x 86 x 43cm.

New series T

A range of digital amplifiers featuring the most advanced technology currently available. There are three models in the catalogue: T-Seven, T-Nine and T-Eleven, with powers of 3,900, 5,100 and 6,300 Watts per channel on 2 Ohms respectively. They offer an interesting and exclusive feature: by means of a smart card, the amplifiers’ maximum output power can be modified at any time (for example: a T-Seven can be changed into a T-Nine or a T-Eleven according to the requirements in the field, which often vary). The units are of very low weight (12 kg.), have compact dimensions (1 U rack 19”) and universal operation from 95 to 265V (50/60Hz).
