Projected Image Digital Launches Wide Range of New Products
Digital hardware/software and media solutions specialists Projected Image Digital (PID) is launching a range of new products, and these will greatly enhance the options available to all those using digital lighting and media technologies for their shows and installations.
“Digital lighting and media technologies are really taking off and becoming more accessible to a greater cross-section of the entertainment and leisure sector,” says PID’s David March. “PID’s mission is to offer the widest and most flexible choice of products to our clients for their projects, and to ensure that they are kept constantly informed with the changing options in a fast-moving world.”
PID is now an official dealer for the Pharos range of architectural and environmental controllers, and they have specified these units on a number of installation projects including Edinburgh College of Art, which is using a Pharos LPC 2 to trigger multiple media servers and an automated projection system.
PID is also a dealer for all Luminex products, including their Ethernet-DMX2 and Ethernet-DMX8 to Art-Net DMX interfaces. The Ethernet-DMX2 Box is an Ethernet node that offers two DMX512 outlets compatible with the Art-Net protocol. Both outlets conform to RDM and can be used as input or output. The Ethernet link is a 10Base-T connection on a Neutrik RJ45 Ethercon connector. All configurations can be done over Ethernet through an in-built web server, or by using the controls on the front panel. This comes in a half 19" 1 unit high metal housing that can be either rack or truss mounted.
The Ethernet-DMX8 is an Ethernet node serving 8 DMX512 outlets compatible with the Art-Net protocol. All eight outlets conform to RDM and can be used as inputs or outputs. The Ethernet link is a 10/100Base-T (auto detect) connection on a Neutrik RJ45 Ethercon connector. Configuration can also be achieved via Ethernet through the in-built webserver or by using the front panel controls. An LCD with navigation keys is provided to control the unit, all housed in a 1U 19" case.
PID now offers the Active Silicon multiple input video card, allowing Catalyst users to have up to eight composite video inputs, all of which can process ‘live’ video through Catalyst software. The Matrox DualHead2Go and TripleHead2Go interfaces enable Catalyst users to expand their number of video outputs from two up to a potential of six. Catalyst has inbuilt configuration settings to support both these powerful interfaces.
PID is also an authorised Apple Reseller with access to the full ranges of Apple software and hardware products, plus numerous third party software and hardware accessories. The company also has access to many additional software and hardware products including : Avid Software, Boris Video Software, Logic Keyboards - Custom keyboards for After Effects/Premiere/Final Cut Pro, M Audio midi and audio products, Red Giant and Trapcode plugins, Sonic DVD Software and WACOM graphic tablets.
