Selecon Seminar at the Maly Theatre in Moscow
The 2006 installation of over 150 Selecon luminaires on to the lighting rigs of the prestigious and historically significant Maly Theatre in Moscow made it the perfect venue choice for Sistema Ltd to host a recent Selecon seminar attended by over one hundred Russian lighting designers and theatre technicians.
Co-presented by Vladimir Lukasevich, resident lighting designer for the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg (top, right at lectern) and Rainer Weggen, Selecon’s market manager for Germany, Austria and Switzerland (centre in white shirt) using a mix of presentational techniques and hands-on experiences with Selecon luminaires meant that language barriers were quickly overcome.
Alexey Kapustin from Selecon dealer, Sistema Ltd was responsible for the organisation of the event and he was delighted with the interest shown by the attendees and the professional and capable manner in which the presentations were handled.
Rainer Weggen commented: “The response shown by the Russian professionals was very gratifying to see. Many of the major theatres in Russia, eager for new technology are already using our Selecon luminaires and as funding permits this base of enthusiastic users will grow.”
