5-Star Launch New Version of Powerlift

5 Star Cases has launched a new version of its established Powerlift system, designed to widen choices in the ever-expanding LCD and plasma screen market.

5 Star’s Keith Sykes comments: “We’ve been building cases for this type of application for some time, and saw great potential in offering a standard, highly flexible ‘out-of-the-box’ system which is quick, easy and painless to rig and set up.”

The Powerlift consists of one of 5 Star’s tried-and-tested Tour Grade cases together with a recently launched, electrically powered lifting mechanism. The lift has been custom designed for the specific requirements of lifting LCD and plasma screens. It features a small footprint and a robust all-steel construction. The 24 Volt motor drive is coupled to a high quality lead-screw jacking system that has both upper and lower limit settings for fine tuning and adjustment. A wireless hand-held remote for the raise/lower function is provided as standard in addition to a wired control.

The Powerlift system is ideal for LCD and plasma screens of up to 50 inches wide, with a total weight of 75kg, and can be specified with or without speakers attached. The lift also incorporates two fully adjustable fixing bars which locate to the screen, so Unicol type brackets are not required, although they can be fixed as a secondary method of mounting as required. The standard unit has a maximum lift height of 1420 mm, with an extended version of up to 1780mm also available. Every Powerlift system case is designed and built to individual requirements.

The Tour Grade case features the usual 5 Star heavy duty fittings including recessed handles, butterfly catches and twin-wheel 3” castors, two of which are braked. A wide choice of exterior finishes is available to suit different corporate identities, including seven standard colours in high pressure laminate, stucco aluminium or diamond board. Screen-printed logos can also be applied to the HPL for further visual impact and security. The Powerlift is supplied with a 240V input as standard, and an 110V auto-sensing device is optional.

All 5 Star cases are renowned for their aesthetics and high quality visual appearance which ensures that the LCD Powerlift is also a highly presentable, ready-to-use display system – quite literally ‘out-of-the-box’. For maximum flexibility, the case can also be concealed under existing displays or graphics when used as part of an exhibition build. Further technical information is available from 5 Star.
