Orbital Scoop Second HME Award

As the UK distributor of HME’s range of advanced wireless intercom products, Orbital Sound has announced that it has recently been awarded HME’s Outstanding Distribution Award. Presented to the highest performing distributors internationally, only one other distributor out of HME’s expansive network were also awarded this accolade. And for Orbital Sound it marks the second time that HME have recognised their work in the UK.
Orbital earned the award by continuing to fuse its expertise and experience over the past year, consistently delivering the DX wireless intercom series, which comprises the DX 200 and DX 100, to the UK’s broadcast, live performance and installed sound markets.
The award winning DX 200 boasts a 2.4 Ghz license free operation, and its advanced digital design offers crystal-clear interference-free two-way communications. Its potential and ease of use has proved invaluable across a variety of applications.
Recent organisations that have embraced the DX200 system include The Royal Court Theatre, Scottish Opera, Queens Theatre Hornchurch, Grand Theatre Wolverhampton, Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama and Hull Truck Theatre Company.
The DX200 beltpack system is joined by the revolutionary WH ComLink - launched at the ABTT Theatre Show in 2006 - providing a radical total comms solution across a number of application environments. It’s unique ergonomically designed digital 2.4 GHz head-set eliminates any cable snagging and obtrusive belt-packs, ideal for safety conscious environments like flying and moving scenery.
Between the two solutions the HME range has become the “de-facto” solution for touring theatrical wireless comms, being embraced by top touring productions including Disney’s Beauty & the Beast, The Producers, Chicago, Fame and Footloose.
In addition, HME’s DX 100 battery powered base station also offers enormous potential to provide seamless communications across a host of application environments and handles the challenges of OB work, on location or in the studio admirably.
The DX 100 allows up to 15 people to speak to each other via headsets without any connecting cables. Much more efficient than walkie-talkies, it boasts an expandable system design, which comes complete to offer reliable and cost effective operation across a variety of leisure build projects, conferencing, theatre and live events.
HME’s sales director John Kowalski commented: “Orbital Sound followed up 2005 with such an amazing performance in 2006. HME systems can be found throughout the live performance and broadcast markets in the UK and Orbital Sound is behind this. We’re proud to be associated with such a great company.”
Orbital’s head of sales Tom Byrne added: “We are honoured to have won this award – the DX series really has proved itself across a host of application environments and we feel is set to become an industry standard. The WH ComLink also added potential in 2006 and we’re anticipating some very exciting HME product innovations to premiere later this year.”
The DX series and the acclaimed ComLink the all-in-one headset will feature on Orbital’s stand at The ABTT Theatre Show 13-14tth June, at the Royal Horticultural Halls, London.
