Production Partners’ Heavy Investment in Soundcraft Vi Platform

Dutch sound and lighting company, Production Partners have committed to Soundcraft technology for the first time – by making a heavy investment in their new digital console platform.
At the recent Pro Light+Sound exhibition in Germany, directors Menno Verkade and Ed de Bree confirmed the purchase of two complete Soundcraft Vi6 packages (including 64-channel stage boxes) and the newly-launched Soundcraft Vi4 from Soundcraft’s Dutch distributors, AudioXL.
Based in Maarssen, Production Partners specialise in the corporate event market. Said Menno Verkade: “The most important consideration was the sound quality, but the console also had to be easy to use – especially for sound engineers still moving across from the analogue to digital domains. Once the output and input patches have been configured, anyone can do a show on it within the space of an hour.”
Menno added that the decision to invest in Soundcraft’s digital technology had also been recommended by Danish company Nordic Rentals A/S, who had committed to two of the new Vi6’s.
A derivative of the Vi6, the new Vi4 offers the same functionality and facilities but in a smaller footprint, making it ideal for applications with space-restricted mix positions.
In just under 1.5m/5ft, it provides access to 48 inputs on 24 faders, with a total of 27 output busses available for use as masters, groups, auxes or matrices. All other features of the Soundcraft Vi6, including the highly acclaimed Vistonics II touch-screen user interface, Soundcraft FaderGlow fader function display and the unequalled audio quality, are inherited by the Soundcraft Vi4.
