ABTT Theatre Show Highlights Automation, Rigging and Staging
As the ABTT Theatre Show draws closer (13-14 June, Royal Horticultural Halls, London), its organiser - the Association of British Theatre Technicians – is delighted to announce that current pre-event registrations are indicating another record attendance and that again over 100 exhibitors will showcase a spectrum of technical solutions for everyone involved with housing and presenting the performing arts. Now in its 29th year the ABTT Theatre Show welcomes a broad base of visitors seeking to find out how the latest in technology can add value to a venue, and make it capable of meeting the demands of contemporary productions and statutory government guidelines.

Are you planning to re-seat your auditorium? You will welcome the chance to see a wide range of fixed and movable seating systems from across Europe, which offer flexibility and choice in many styles and variations.
Amongst the many innovations on display, the new power hoist from Unusual Rigging - The Revolution is a flexible and efficient winch solution is presented within a standard 52cm x 52 cm truss and travels in conventional roadboxes. It has single or multiple use within truss runs with either single or double wires on each winch. The winch can also be used from the floor. Running at 3 metres per second with a 300 KG safe working load at a factor of 5:1, this extremely fast winch has a single 6 mm diameter wire travel of 30 metres.
Mayr Transmissions Ltd are exhibiting two brand new designs and three additions to existing designs within the ROBA stop range of fail-safe brakes for theatre and stage equipment /winches at ABTT 2007. These are: ROBA duplostop, ROBA stop RSA, ROBA stop slienzio double, ROBA stop silenzio torque + and ROBA diskstop.
Sick/Stegmann is launching a new range of positioning devices and safety limit switch systems, which are ideally suited to the control of stage scenery, platforms and revolves.
R.A.T (Music Stands) Ltd will present the Strata Staging system. Designed to be user friendly the new range in lighter, easier and even quicker to assemble plus it boasts aluminium die cast corners. They offer greater rigidity and strength plus their rounded corners are safer and more user friendly.
Maltbury will showcase its simple and effective scenic revolve system. It allows users to switch scenes in the shortest time and the lockable castors ensure it stays put. It is easy to dismantle and is robust to meet the challenges of any touring production.
Total Training's rigging courses will be publicised together with details of Total Fabrications' specialised training for its innovative T2 System.
Lift Turn Move (LTM) will highlight examples from its extensive range of CM Lodestar hoists at the show. And they will discuss their latest training initiatives, which include the now famous CM Motor School. New products include LTM’s Guardian Motor Controllers.
Slingo will exhibit its CableNet tension wire grid along with its award-winning Unibar and present a new power hoist.
Harlequin will exhibit its extensive and well-known range of stage and studio floorings together with sprung floor systems for portable and permanent use. The vinyl floorings cover portable, roll-out floors to cushioned and heavy-duty floors, including special effects such as ultra high gloss finishes for display use. A wide range of accessories includes roll storage bags, straps and carts, tapes and cleaning and maintenance products and, for dance studios, a professional collection of wall-mounted and freestanding ballet barres.
