AKG’s Unsigned Heroes Final Rescheduled
Harman Pro UK, distributors for AKG microphones in the UK and Eire, are delighted to announce the date for the rescheduled final for Unsigned Heroes, AKG’s UK unsigned bands competition. The final, which will pit three unsigned UK bands against one another at London’s prestigious venue KOKO, was originally scheduled for April 26th, but had to be rescheduled when the headline band The Cooper Temple Clause, who had agreed to play at the final in support of new talent, split up the day before the event.
The three bands in the final, Liverpool’s The Kashmirs, Hertfordshire’s Flamboyant Bella, and London’s own The Standards, will now take the stage at KOKO on the evening of Friday June 1st, with DJ support from Mani of Primal Scream, before the Club NME event happening at KOKO later the same evening. Entrance to the final will be free before 8.30 (and £7 per person afterwards), with the first 300 through the door receiving a free drink. Anyone entering before 8.30 will also have free access to the Club NME event, which will feature NME regulars Kubichek with support from the Be Be See and, of course, the winning band from the Unsigned Heroes final.
Amanda Chester, Harman Pro UK’s marketing manager, commented: “We’re delighted to join Club NME at KOKO for the rescheduled final. Club NME is all about great music and upcoming talent, so it’s the perfect fit for Unsigned Heroes, and with the three unsigned groups, the Club NME bands, and Mani’s DJ set, it’s going to be a great night for music at KOKO, which is what we always wanted for the final.”
