Brent Woods Appointed LiteStructures Studios General Manager

Brent Woods has been appointed General Manager of Litestructures Studios.

Canadian born Woods will report to Litestructures GB Ltd Managing Director, Adrian Brooks, and will be responsible for business development, operations, marketing and sales for the £2.5m Litestructures Studios rehearsal facility.

Litestructures Studio is the largest purpose built facility for arena and stadium tour rehearsals. Since its opening in May 2005 the Studio has hosted production rehearsals for Coldplay, Robbie Williams, Muse, George Michael, Westlife, Meat Loaf and many others.

Adrian Brooks said: "This is an exciting new appointment for Litestructures. Brent brings with him considerable experience within both the live music and television production sectors. He will bring real innovation to this role and establish the Litestructures Studio as the UK’s premier rehearsal facility."

Brent Woods said: "I am incredibly excited by this challenging role. Litestructures have built a wonderful facility which is unique not only in Yorkshire, but nationally as well. It is unmatched in its ability to accommodate any size of live music production. I join the team at a time when the Studio is really starting to meet its potential while still having a great capacity for growth. I'm looking forward to driving the commercial strategy and developing new revenue streams."

Woods started his career in the late 1980s as programming assistant for the Toronto edition of the W.O.M.A.D. Festival. In 1990 he was appointed music coordinator at Toronto’s Harbourfront Centre where he worked alongside venerable promoter Derek Andrews and was responsible for over 350 performances annually. Woods also ran a small agency representing UK acts for the Canadian summer festival seasons.

Prior to joining Litestructures, Woods was managing director at Sheffield International Documentary Festival, which he joined in 1996. He has also been a consultant to a number of media organisations including the Intelligent Television Festival, World Congress of Science and Factual Producers and Showcomotion Children’s Media Conference.
