PSL Promotes Steadman to Board of Directors
Event and exhibition services company PSL has named Lauren Steadman as a new director of the company, in recognition of the success she has had heading up PSL’s Exhibitions Division.
Steadman is well-known in the exhibitions industry; 20 years ago, coming from the music and photographic industries into the audio-visual business, she pioneered the provision of official AV services to exhibition events, becoming exhibitions director at Samuelson Communications.
A founding director of PSL in 1990, she has since spent time in the USA, opening an office in Los Angeles. Since 2003, she has been running PSL’s Exhibition Division, establishing and consolidating the company’s position as official AV and IT suppliers to the leading exhibition organisers in the UK.
Steadman’s promotion to PSL’s main board coincides with the start of one of the busiest summers ever for PSL Exhibitions, with the addition of several major new contracts to its roster, as well as annual renewals for regular clients.
A new name on the PSL client list is that of Zinc Events, an exhibition organiser with a wealth of experience in running market-leading consumer and trade exhibitions. PSL has been appointed as official AV and IT supplier to Zinc's first three shows, a diverse portfolio which features Beyond Boundaries in June at Sandown Park, exploring opportunities for the disabled; Invest 07 in November at Sandown Park, an exhibition and seminar programme on consumer investment; and SHAPE08, the Target Weight Show, to be held at Olympia in the new year, a consumer event aimed at visitors who want to manage their weight, get fit and eat better.
AV service contracts have been renewed by Reed Exhibitions, CMPi and EMAP, and Clarion Events, which is expanding its relationship with PSL. In June 2007 alone, PSL will be official AV and IT contractor for the House & Garden Fair, the Luxury Travel Fair and the HALI Fair, all staged at Olympia – all of them Clarion shows. PSL enviably has the contract for CMP Information's BAR.07 show which will bring the drinks industry and all its considerable temptations to Earls Court.
Maintaining its strong links with the aviation industry, PSL will provide AV/IT rental services to exhibitors at the AERO EXPO at Wycombe Park in June, and to Reed International's HeliTech show at the International War Museum in Duxford in October.
