Simon Barrett Joins MA Lighting UK
Simultaneously with the opening of the MA Lighting office in London Simon Barrett (25) joined the MA UK team on 1st of May. Barrett is supporting the technical sales team with Richard Lambert as technical director and looking after administration, and workshop logistics as well as exhibitions.
Even though Barrett is comparatively young he has a long and wide experience in the industry: “I have been involved with live theatre in some form or another since the age of seven, starting on stage but soon moving into the more interesting back stage roles. What was first a hobby became my career. I am passionate about the live entertainment industry and enjoy immensely being involved.”
During his education he has graduated from Rose Bruford College with a Lighting Design BA (Hons). From 2003 to 2007 he worked with White Light in a number of different roles from sales coordinator to marketing assistant as well as training coordinator. In addition, he was busy as a freelance lighting designer and technician working all over the UK and internationally.
