Flying Start for ISCE’s Training Initiative

ISCE’s revised Training Initiative has got off to a flying start. Already nearly 50 attendees have been trained and accredited with their certificates, in the Measurement & Certification of AFILS Systems, to the newly revised IEC60118-4 Standard. This is a vital course for anyone involved with Induction Loop Systems.

Regional courses have already been held in Watford, Warrington, Washington (Tyne & Wear), and Northern Ireland and, with places filling fast for course venues at Bristol and Crowborough on 9th and 16th July respectively, there is no time to lose if you don’t want to miss out on this essential training and accreditation.

The ISCE has long been recognised as the learned society and professional body for all those professionally engaged in the sound distribution, reinforcement or reproduction industry, and accreditation from these courses will clearly emphasise to customers, consultants and main contractors, the high level of competency and Continuing Personal Development, which is so essential in today’s marketplace.

Courses being planned include Design and Installation of AFILS; Commissioning, Balancing and Equalisation of Sound Systems; Implementation of the new EMC Standards; and courses specifically for Voice Alarm Systems. For those new to the industry, or involved in sales and marketing positions, future courses will include Basic Training for Sound System Designers, Installers and Technicians, as well as a foundation Basic Electronics Course.

Members frequently complain of work being lost to ‘cowboys’, and it is only by being able to prove our competency levels that we will be able to bring about change. It is now more essential than ever that all companies of every size, even one-man operations, plan, monitor and budget for training.
