Ged Murphy Joins Flashlight Internal Sales Team

Ged Murphy has worked in the entertainment industry since 1985, starting as a sound operator at Darlington Civic Theatre. After completing four years there in what Ged describes as a "well paid apprenticeship", he spent a short time on tour with Whirligig Theatre Company and then as a freelance technician involved in numerous productions, events and exhibitions in the North East.

Ged was appointed technical manager to the Darlington Arts Centre, at the time the second largest arts centre in England, where he expanded his skills as stage manager, lighting designer, sound engineer, projectionist and video technician.

Ged joins us from Northern Stage Services, where he spent nearly ten years, firstly as manager of the hire department and then as sales and supplies manager.

Speaking of his appointment to the Flashlight team, Ged said: "I am very happy to be working alongside some of the friendliest and most professional guys in the entertainment industry. It is a real privilege to accept my position here. I am looking forward to the future and Flashlight is for me, the right place to be."
