Nature Conservation – Blitzed!
Blitz, part of the Blitz Charter Group recently worked with production company Media Natura to provide projection, graphics content and audio systems for the 2007 Whitley Awards' ceremony.
The Whitley Awards ceremony was held at the Royal Geographical Society on 10th May 2007 and was hosted by their Patron HRH the Princess Royal and Sir David Attenborough. The winners came from all around the world to communicate their passion and enthusiasm for conservation. It was imperative that through the AV which Blitz provided, the audience grasped the concept of the impact that the conservationists' work has. Graphics, audio and high quality projection helped to portray their dedication.
Mandy Duncan-Smith of Media Natura commented: "Commendable work is being carried out throughout the world to help to preserve life and through the high quality projection, graphics and audio systems which Blitz provided, it magnified just how extraordinarily remarkable and important the conservationists' work is to the world."
The Whitley Fund for Nature is a UK-registered charity that supports conservation efforts around the world. The charity locates and supports enthusiastic conservation leaders who are committed to long-lasting conservation work on the ground and projects that involve and engage the local community through good science. This year eight Whitley Awards of £30,000 each were awarded to a variety of projects where inspirational conservationists have proved to be truly exceptional. The overall Gold Winner was Fernando Trujillo, who will receive a total grant of £60,000 for his important work to protect the Amazon river basin and the rare South American pink river dolphin.
Paul Hutton of Blitz said: "We were extremely proud to support Media Natura this year following the successful partnership of previous years. The conservationists' awarded at the ceremony deserve recognition and they give inspiration to many as the work that they provide is invaluable for the preservation of our earth. It was important that Blitz provided a complete AV solution, reflecting the real impact of the conservationists' work which was truly exceptional."
