Allen & Heath Enters Xxone at Glade Festival
Allen & Heath's range of industry-standard Xone mixers were installed on a majority of stages at the recent Glade festival, a spin-off of the Glastonbury Glade Stage, which took place near Newbury in July. Now in its fourth year, the Festival hosted performances from dance music's leading artists across 12 arenas.
New innovations for the 2007 event include the addition of a dedicated techno tent - the Vapor Stage - and a new arena called the Nectar Temple, housing a multi-functional arts space and West Coast breaks artists.
Allen & Heath's MIDI-enabled Xone:92 was installed on the Vapor Stage, Breaksday Tent, Liquid Stage, ID Spiral Dome, Nectar Temple, and in the Pussy Parlure, whilst two Xone:62 mixers were installed on the Overkill Stage. Ralph Lawson also used his Xone:3D mixer/controller for 2020 Soundsystem's live performance and Infusion employed their new Allen & Heath WZł20S onstage stereo mixer.
Attracting 16,500 visitors over the three days, Glade covered all genres in the electronic dance spectrum from techno, house, breaks, psy trance, dub, to ambient. This year's line up boasted Unkle, Infusion, Andy C, Freq Nasty, Craig Richards. Richie Hawtin, Aaron Spectre, Luke Vibert, Layo & Bushwacka!, Adam Freeland, and the Plump DJ's.
Glade Festival front end co-ordinator, Richard Griffiths, commented: "The Glade Festival is growing year on year and is fast becoming the definitive dance music festival in the UK, with artists from all the electronic music genres represented in the line up. By installing Allen & Heath mixers, we more than satisfy the technical demands of the high calibre artists performing over the three days, whilst offering the best possible sound quality to our audience."
