Essex Sound & Light Update and Reinvest in KV2 Audio Systems

Following a busy two years of installation projects and with an ever expanding hire department Essex Sound & Light (ESL), a committed KV2 Audio user, have taken their first step to re-invest and upgrade their audio equipment hire stock with an initial delivery of the new design KV2 Audio ES system.

Mike Glover, ESL managing director, commented: “Initially, three years ago we invested in a large KV2 Audio ES system, of the original design, which was used extensively on a huge range of commissions from live music festivals, gigs and presentations to the Labour Party conferences in Brighton. The original systems were designed as ‘plug & play’ systems and they were fantastic, providing huge output from a small footprint. It was the very method and way in which this system performed that made this decision to re-invest that much easier. After having attended a few live, on-site demonstrations with Andy Austin-Brown of KV2 the improvements in quality, output and sheer imaging were undeniable. People just don’t believe what such a physically small system can achieve, you have to see and hear it to believe it.”

Aimed at live music, permanent installations and the AV market the ES Series is an embodiment of KV2 Audio’s Active Driven product philosophy. A truly scaleable system it is compact, modular and designed for easy set up. ESL’s new system comprises new ergonomically improved ES1.0 mid hi enclosures and ES1.8 subwoofers, complimented and controlled by the new EPAK2500R rack mount controller/amplifiers. The EPAK 2500R advances the Active Driven concept even further with improved sound quality including the implementation of VHD technology with a 6MHz sampling, digital delay line utilised for driver alignment.

Suffice to say the system is already booked for several projects throughout the coming year, where Mike has already made a commitment to further invest in a similar system in the coming months.

With ever increasing logistical costs and manpower requirements, Glover said that this system offered the unusual option to actually reduce transportation and time constraints for set-ups and decommissioning, a remarkable claim in this world of multi cabinet array systems.
