Le Maitre and their Muse

Le Maitre were at the recent Isle of Wight Festival to support Muse's performance. They also supplied and fired the effects for their Wembley and Paris shows.

Two technicians loaded a 40' wide Cascade waterfall, and there were two Waterfall cues, both for the track 'Starlight'. As it was a multi-artist event, there were a number of set changes during the day and the 19 Flame Projectors had to be set in place during the changeovers. This made things very tight but as all the looms had been pre-prepared it resulted in a smooth set up.

The 19 large flame projectors with base were fired simultaneously on the final note of 'Take a Bow', which was the closing track. Throughout the show, two Stadium Hazers were positioned stage left and right behind the drum riser to fire a manic stream of vapour. Also involved were Le Maitre's own CO2 Jet system of 12 heads which was used extensively during 'Knights of Cydonia' and 'Butterflies and Hurricanes'.

The following weekend for Wembley Stadium there were three technicians as the set was Muse's own and differed enormously from the 'standard' stage at the Isle of Wight. The Waterfall had to be rigged on six separate poles and was almost twice as wide overall at around 80 feet. Le Maitre supplied two Confetti blowers and white confetti. Two technicians rigged and set the blowers within the 'B' stage for the band’s dramatic entrance as they appeared from the lift. These blowers were set stage left and right of the lift and were fired for 20-30 seconds vertically. The waterfall cues were the same for 'Starlight', as were the CO2 and Flame Projectors. Two G300s powered a pair of Terrafogs at the extreme’s stage left and right to complement the CO2 Jets front of stage.

The Parc des Princes show in Paris was identical to Wembley Stadium's.

Isle of Wight Festival 2007 technicians were Tim Haddon and Sasha Pomelova. Wembley Stadium technicians were Tim Haddon, Danny Terry and Sasha Pomelova and the Parc des Princes technicians were Tim Haddon and Danny Terry.
