Litestructures Studios Play Important Role for Artists Old and New
Wakefield based rehearsal arena Litestructures Studios has provided tour support services for two acts celebrating milestones in their careers.
George Michael has celebrated 25 years as a performer by taking his 25 LiveTour to stadiums across Europe this summer. In June he christened the new Wembley Stadium with a performance in front of 140,000 people. The tour’s production manager, Mark ‘Springo’ Spring, and crew spent four weeks this spring at Litestructures Studios preparing for the tour.
Meanwhile the Arctic Monkeys have celebrated an important milestone in their young careers by debuting at the Glastonbury Festival with a headline slot at the Pyramid stage. It was just one of a string of summer performances for which the band traveled the short distance from their native Sheffield to rehearse at Litestructures Studios.
“It has been a real honour for Litestructures Studios to play a role in the tour preparations for these two acts, both of whom are reaching exciting new phases in their careers,’ said Litestructures Studios general manager Brent Woods. ‘The return of George Michael’s 25 Live Tour to the Studio after its first visit last summer shows that Litestructures Studios has become a favourite rehearsal venue for large touring productions and well established artists. But Litestructures Studios is also building strong reputations with younger bands. It is great to host and support acts like the Arctic Monkeys who are at an exciting stage in their developing careers.”
With over 17,500 sq feet of floor space, a height of 54 feet and a load capacity of 100 tons across its flexible, man-safe gantry, Litestructures Studios is the UK’s largest purpose built rehearsal studio.
Litestructures Studios is a division of Litestructures GB Ltd. Incorporated in 1991, Litestructures is a world leader in the design, manufacture and commissioning of modular aluminium structures. From the original Astralite multi purpose trussing, through staging for the worlds top bands, to the design and manufacture of telemetry pods for leading motorsport teams, Litestructures has a history of innovation and of achieving excellence through progressive design.
