OHM at PLASA 2007
OHM (UK) Ltd, fast becoming a rarity as one of the few remaining truly British speaker manufacturers, is celebrating its 25th anniversary at this year’s PLASA by showing a number of new and improved products.
The HD-FM high power stage monitor, the LM range of install/mobile cabinets and the BootiQue sound system are the featured new products whilst existing units have undergone a complete overhaul with improved HF drivers, neodymium magnet bass units and speakons as standard. The popular BR5 and 6 have new low/mid drivers which give up to a +3dB increase in SPL and the twin 8” BR8 is now equipped with a purpose built compression driver, attaining a uniform 160 degree dispersion from a newly developed defraction horn.
The HD-FM stage monitor comprises of two 12” low/mid-range drivers coupled to a coaxial compression driver featuring a separate 3” and 1.75” coil diaphragm assemblies on a single throat, coupled to a proprietary 1.5” horn flare. Designed to complement the OHM HD Arena System the FM monitor, with an output of 145dB, will keep up with the most competent front of house system.
The LM Series is a fully featured, painted ply range intended for installation and mobile use. It comprises of compression driver loaded 12”, 15” and 2 x 15” full range units and monitors and an 18” sub bass. Equipped with flying points and transport handles the range provides a cost effective solution for the smaller installations and mobile users.
The BootQue is a packaged professional sound system in a box. The 10” active sub-woofer is powered by a one hundred watt amplifier with two fifty watt amplifiers, contained in the same cabinet, will power up to 8 Satellite speakers. Finished in high gloss black piano finish, which will complement the most sophisticated of interiors, the BootiQue, as the name suggests, is ideal for distributed sound in Boutiques, Discotheque Lounge areas, Foyers and Home Cinema.
