PB Dynasonics Appoint UK Distributor

Resolution Distribution, part of KV2 Audio in the UK, has announced that they have been appointed as sole UK & Eire distributor for APB Dynasonics products.

APB DynaSonics is a manufacturing company based in Totowa, New Jersey that designs and builds high performance analogue mixing consoles and related audio products offering noticeably superior sound quality in both fixed and touring applications.

Chuck Augustowski, John Petrucelli and Taz Bhogal, leading audio designers with over 65 years of combined experience, founded APB in 2004 to bring analogue consoles to a new level of excellence. Their expertise has produced innovative products such as the Spectra Series consoles, MixSwitch and ProRack, all designed and manufactured in the United States.

Andy Simmons of Resolution / KV2 commented: “Having known the guys behind APB for many years and seeing the quality of products that they are producing with APB it was a perfect fit with the other products that we handle and that’s important to us as a distribution company. We’ve already had a lot of interest in the consoles even before we shipped any over here!”

The APB Spectra-C and Spectra-T are high performance analogue consoles designed to offer truly exceptional sound quality, versatility and reliable performance in a range of fixed installation and touring sound applications.

Each of these VCA-based models is available with 24, 32, 40, 48 and 56 mono input channels and all sizes feature 4 additional stereo line-input channels. A 24 channel mono-input expander is also available for use with all of the available models for both Spectra-C and Spectra-T.

APB’s ProRack small-format mixers incorporate a wealth of professional features and exceptional performance into 10 rack spaces. Available in two different formats, House with a total of 20 mic inputs and Monitor with 16 mic inputs, the chassis design features an adjustable connector assembly that freely rotates and can be set to three different angles relative to the front panel. The ProRack's audio design is based on APB’s critically acclaimed Spectra Series consoles.

The first rack-mount family of products from APB is MixSwitch a versatile, multi-channel audio switching and combining system that takes up only 1U of rack space. Typical applications when in SWITCH mode includes selecting between the Primary console (Digital or analogue) and Backup console, or between Headline and Opening Act consoles in concert/presentation situations. When in SUM mode, MixSwitch allows for the simultaneous use of both consoles (equally mixed). In club applications, selection between FOH and DJ mixers into a common audio system can easily be performed. Each MixSwitch unit can control up to 4 sets of line-level audio signals; Slave units can be added to jointly control additional sets of signals.

Simmons continued: “People told us we would be crazy to look at marketing an analogue console in the UK mainly because of the preponderance of digital consoles entering the market but its interesting looking further into the statistics. Whereas there has been a lot of PR surrounding sales of digital consoles, when you actually look into what is being used on the road and in installations then you’ll find a lot of analogue consoles still being used. Don’t get me wrong digital absolutely has its place, but don’t write off analogue just yet. The other consideration is residual values - how much will your digital console be worth in three years time? For a rental company that’s got to be a major influence on what consoles to invest in and I’ll think you’ll find that currently analogue has a better residual value over digital. There are still a lot of people out there looking for high quality analogue mixing consoles at a reasonable cost and that ‘s what APB is all about.”

Resolution are the distributors for Vieta Pro and Apex Audio products as well as being part of the KV2 Audio sales and marketing team in the UK.
