Robert Juliat and White Light Lend a Hand at LAMDA

Robert Juliat, in association with its exclusive UK distributor White Light, is helping to support the training of future generations of lighting designers and lighting technicians with a new three-year programme of equipment donations to LAMDA, the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art.
White Light has long been both a supplier and a supporter of LAMDA: the lighting installation in The LAMDA Linbury Studio was supplied and installed by White Light, White Light regularly supplies equipment to LAMDA’s productions, and the company has run workshops on moving lights and other lighting technologies for the Academy’s students over the years. The new programme was arranged by White Light’s Roger Hennigan, LAMDA’s technical director Matt Drury, senior lighting tutor Paul Rowland and François Juliat and Lionel Garraud from Robert Juliat.
In each of the three years LAMDA will receive a selection of Robert Juliat equipment. The first year’s consignment included four 613SX and six 614SX 1k profile spots, four Lutin interchangeable Fresnel/pebble convex/plano convex lanterns plus two 310 HPC and two 310HPD lanterns. Robert Juliat delivered the equipment at a reception at LAMDA on the 12th June, and also sent technical support in the form of Ludwig Lepage to provide training on its use and maintenance.
“We are very excited to be able to work with Robert Juliat in this way,” comments LAMDA’s Paul Rowland. “We are thrilled that Robert Juliat recognises the importance of our training, and we look forward to collaborating with them over the next three years.” Will Scarnell, The LAMDA Linbury Studio’s technical manager and LAMDA stage management tutor adds: “I have been really impressed by the thought that has gone into the design of the kit and extras. The little details like the toggle spring clip for the gel frame and the adjustable barn door leaves are great. Add that to the quality of light that the units give and the robust design, and you have a potentially classic lighting instrument.”
“Robert Juliat offers superb quality products, which sadly aren’t always readily available to lighting students,” adds White Light’s Roger Hennigan. “We hope that Juliat’s support of LAMDA will benefit their students’ training and - of course - stick in the mind of LAMDA Graduates when they go on to specify equipment for their own shows or theatres!”
Further information on the range is available from the Robert Juliat website, www.robertjuliat.fr. The range is exclusively distributed in the UK by White Light.
