Second Eos Desk Sold in UK by Stage Electrics at ABTT

Stage Electrics have sold the second EOS desk in the UK to North Devon Theatres Trust during the company’s successful show at ABTT.

The desk will be installed in The Queen’s Theatre, Barnstaple, a 683-seat venue operated by the North Devon Theatres Trust who utilise the wide range of services Stage Electrics have to offer including hire, sales, service and installation.

EOS from ETC is designed for the rigorous demands of West End and Broadway shows, opera houses, concert venues, TV studios and large productions. The desk provides a syntax and operational style familiar to most lighting designers, allowing them to speak to their moving light and conventional programmers in a language each will understand. Designers will also be able to work from a laptop or Remote Video Interface connected to the Eos network. These remote stations can mimic the programmers’ displays, or designers can set up their own workspace, totally independent of the programmer.

Robin Shephard–Blandy, senior technician of The Queen’s Theatre, visited ABTT specially to see the desk in action. The North Devon Theatres’ technical department had previously demoed other consoles, but Robin explained: “I thought the EOS would be just what we were looking for and after the hour long demo conducted by Anne Valetino from ETC I was convinced.”

Andrew Sugg, Stage Electrics business development manager, said: “Robin is one of our long standing customers and I am very pleased we have matched him with a desk which meets his brief perfectly and that his trip to ABTT proved so worthwhile.”

Shephard-Blandy has glowing praise for the EOS: “I was very impressed with the features available; the functionality the touch screen brings to the operation is awesome.”
