Audex 2007 Offers Ideal Business Forum for Commercial and Professional Audio Installers

AUDEX 2007, the annual exhibition that showcases the latest commercial, professional and secure audio products, is taking place in the Commonwealth Suites at the City of Manchester Stadium on Thursday 18th October. Now in its fourth year, the show is bigger and better than ever before and gives installers a real opportunity to get up close to new products recently launched at international events such as PLASA. It provides an invaluable forum for installers to meet and discuss projects with leading manufacturers including RCF, Shure and Sennheiser, without having to be away from the business for more than a few hours.

“Audex 2007 is going from strength to strength and already more than 35 of the world’s leading manufacturers have signed up to appear,” commented Craig Buckley, managing director of RW Salt, one of the UK’s largest and most established distributors of audio equipment and organisers of the event. “The reason that the show is so successful is that it has been designed with a business to business focus to meet the needs of commercial and professional audio installers. It provides visitors with an easy way to update their knowledge of the latest innovative solutions available on the market.”

New at this year’s show is a Prosound area dedicated to the needs of hire companies, theatre technicians and installers of high end professional audio systems. Situated over the whole of the ground floor, it features the latest large format desks, loudspeaker systems, digital desks and signal processing systems from manufacturers such as MIDAS, Klark Teknik, Turbosound and Bose. On the first floor, manufacturers of commercial and secure audio products will be showcasing the latest background music, voice evacuation and door entry systems.

A full programme of free seminars will be running throughout the day in the 80-seat theatre. Alan March of Shure will discuss the implications of the forthcoming digital TV switchover and how it will affect users of radio microphone systems, whilst Jason Kelly of Midas will present the history of the company and provide an insight into the development of its range of innovative consoles. Other companies hosting seminars include RCF, Audio-Technica and SigNET.

A host of new products will be on display at AUDEX 2007 including Sennheiser’s new EM3732 twin radio microphone/receiver, Powersoft amplifiers and Artec and Arco loudspeakers. Commenting on the event, Paul Nunnington, product manager for professional systems at Sennheiser, said: “We are again looking forward to exhibiting at AUDEX as we appreciate the fact that all visitors are installers of professional audio equipment. This enables us to have more detailed technical discussions about our products in a more business oriented environment."

As well as taking over the entire top floor to host its 2007 UK Dealer Day RCF is presenting the latest additions to the TT range of products including the TT 31-A “mini” 2 way speaker system, TTL12-AS active sub and TT25-SMA high performance stage monitor. It is also launching a new range of passive speakers, the TT 22 & TT25, specifically designed for the theatre and touring markets as well as fixed installations.

According to Phil Price, managing director of RCF UK: “We have supported and exhibited at AUDEX since its inception in 2004 and have found the show to be invaluable in introducing us to professional and commercial installers who like more intimate events of this nature. We believe that holding our own event in line with AUDEX will add to the experience that our own dealers will enjoy whilst attending our own annual conference.”

Baldwin Boxall Communications is launching VIGIL OmniCare, an integrated emergency voice communication system that combines disabled refuge remotes, fire telephone remotes and disabled toilet alarms in a single system and delivers significant cost savings.

Entry to AUDEX 2007 is free and visitors planning on attending are invited to register in advance at http://www.audex.org
