Carbon Cub and More from LTM at PLASA

Lifting, and rigging specialists LTM- Lift Turn Move Ltd - will launch several new products at PLASA 07 including the Carbon Cub, a small twin-lifting wire rope hoist for lifting banners and small lighting and PA systems; a wireless motor controller and their new range of Guardian motor control systems will be highlighted.

LTM will also show a selection of their wide range of CM Lodestar and Prostar hoists, plus other rigging equipment and accessories. The LTM team will be on hand to discuss their latest training initiatives, an element that key individuals in the company have pioneered in the industry for the last 13 years.

The Carbon Cub is a compact, portable, ‘plug-and-play’ mini hoist system. It is suitable for a variety of lifting applications and is perfect for theatres, broadcast studios, museums, sporting productions, worship and retail venues. It has been specially designed to raise and lower lights, scenic elements, projectors or banners. The Carbon Cub features a matt black finish with black lifting cables. It has a travel speed of 4.3 m/ minute and can lift loads up to 125 Kg to a height of 7.5 m.

The unit itself weighs only 41kg and comes complete with self locking helical gears. It has both right and left hand grooved drum winding preventing lateral movement, and there are limit switches and over travel protection. It is supplied with low voltage controls and remote pendant facility as standard and operates on either 400V 3 phase (50Hz) or 220V single phase (50Hz) power Supplies.

LTM has manufactured hoist controllers for two years, constructing systems for both Direct Control and Low Voltage controlled hoists. The Guardian range has steadily grown from the first simple four-channel units to also incorporate complex multi-channel controllers, and LTM is now launching a standard range of three models. These are available as rack mounted, movable flight cased units or wall mounted systems for permanent installations. LTM also design and construct bespoke Guardian control systems to fit a client’s exact and specific requirements.

LTM will launch a motor controller with radio controlled remote at the show - giving riggers the complete freedom to roam around a venue and operate the system without the same restrictions imposed by wired versions. The device can be built into direct control or low voltage controlled hoists and will be very useful for situations where you need to move around the room or stage to get into position to see the motors whilst in operation.

LTM offers an extensive range of lifting and rigging equipment including the Lodestar and Prostar electric chain hoists, which are being highlighted at the show. The Lodestar is the entertainment industry standard hoist and these products can be found on most tours, events and in many venues around the world. High integrity hoisting systems are also available including equipment to BGV C1 German safety standard. Special features include double brakes, load sensing and multiple limit switches. Variable speed units and manual or computerised controllers are available to monitor safety features and drive the equipment.

LTM offers a comprehensive range of spare parts for Lodestars and Prostars plus repairs and routine servicing, with staff fully trained in both standard equipment and BGV C1 certified equipment.

Also showing are the compact CM Prostar hoists, with increased capacities and speeds. Prostars are available with speeds of 4, 6 or 10 m/min.
