Get in the Design and Installation Training Loop
ISCE’s new certification course for the Design and Installation of Induction Loop Systems is intended to overcome the growing problem of badly designed and poorly installed Induction Loops Systems, many of which are not set up or commissioned correctly in accordance with the requisite standards.
The problem, which has been brought to the attention of the local authorities, RNID, and raised in Parliament (motion by Tom Levitt – Labour, High Peak, 2 July 2007), stems from unqualified persons designing and fitting induction loops using, seemingly low cost, equipment as now available from electrical wholesalers, online stores and even stationery supplier catalogues.
To ensure that an installed system is installed professionally, meets the recommendations of BS 7594, as well as the requirements IEC/EN 60118-4 and the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA), all installers should be trained and competent.
This course is vital for anyone involved with Induction Loop Systems. The first course will be held at Camberley, Surrey on 22 October and, with places filling fast, you should act fast to ensure you get this essential training and accreditation. Regional, or in-house, courses can be offered if demand is sufficient.
Following a series of regional courses and their successful Training Initiative, across the country, nearly 50 attendees have been trained and accredited with their certificates in the Measurement and Certification of AFILS Systems (to the newly revised IEC 60118-4 standard). For anyone who missed these courses, ISCE are offering a special opportunity of a combined course, with the above, over two days on 22-23 October.
The ISCE has long been recognised as the professional body for all those engaged in the sound distribution, reinforcement or reproduction industry, and accreditation from these courses will emphasise to customers, consultants and main contractors, the high level of competency and continuing personal development, which is so essential in today’s marketplace.
Further courses being planned include Balancing and Equalisation of Sound Systems and courses specifically for Voice Alarm Systems. For those new to the industry, or involved in sales and marketing positions, future courses will include essential Basic Training for Sound System Designers, Installers and Technicians, as well as a foundation Basic Electronics Course.
