Meyer Sound Shows UPJunior, MJF-212A and More at PLASA

On stand J18 at PLASA, Meyer Sound will again offer a selection of groundbreaking products as well as a spacious hospitality area where visitors can relax with refreshments while getting detailed information or simply enjoying a round of convivial conversation.

Meyer Sound will be presenting several new products whose releases have received enthusiastic receptions. The UPJunior ultracompact VariO loudspeaker brings the benefits of a rotatable horn and high power-to-size ratio from the UPJ-1P compact VariO loudspeaker to a yet smaller package. The MJF-212A high-power stage monitor has progressed from its debut at the Montreux Jazz Festival to worldwide acclaim on tours by the likes of Metallica and Steely Dan. Speaking of well-received products, the M'elodie ultracompact high-power curvilinear array loudspeaker continues to find its way into sound systems and installations of practically every type, all over the world.

Of course, loudspeakers are not all Meyer Sound will feature at the exhibition. Visitors to the stand will have an opportunity to experience first-hand the power and versatility of the Matrix3 audio show control system, the ultimate tool for the most demanding theatrical and themed spectacle applications. The Galileo loudspeaker management system (with Compass control software) and MAPP Online Pro acoustical prediction software, both loaded with their latest software updates, also will be available for demo sessions.

Meyer Sound loudspeakers are designed to remain current long after their introduction, as will be demonstrated by the display of numerous established products on the stand, in addition to the newer models. The CQ-1 wide coverage main loudspeaker was originally designed for the grand reopening of San Francisco's War Memorial Opera House in 1997, and, 10 years later, is still a keystone of the self-powered series. The CQ-1 will be shown at PLASA with a new, updated grille treatment.

PLASA attendees wanting to hear Meyer Sound loudspeakers in action will have ample opportunity to do so in London’s West End theatre district, where Meyer Sound loudspeakers are in use on shows such as Avenue Q, Billy Elliot, Dirty Dancing, Evita, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Les Misérables, The Lion King, Lord of the Rings, Mamma Mia!, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music, Spamalot, We Will Rock You, and Wicked.

Only a few days after visiting Meyer Sound at PLASA, audio professionals will have the opportunity to learn more about essential principles in designing sound reinforcement systems when Meyer Sound Senior Technical Seminar Instructor Mauricio Ramirez presents a System Design Principles seminar in Wrexham, Wales on 17 September.
