W-DMX Introduces S-2 Dual Universe Transmitter
Wireless Solution Sweden AB has announced the launch of the W-DMX BlackBox S-2 dual universe transmitter.
Designed with the rental and production markets in mind, the S-2 offers both easy and reliable operation. Two push buttons on the new front allow operation of universes 1 & 2 along with two DMX inputs both accepting full frame / full refresh DMX. Other features include signal level control and DMX over RJ45 and CAT5 cable. The unit is plug and play and provides interference-free operation.
Stackable to 19", units can be configured to allow four DMX Universes per 19" rack unit with 1U. A 2U rack mounting kit is also available for two units. The mounting kit will provide DMX in/out and antenna output on both front and back with termination buttons on the front to easily terminate the DMX line. Both DMX inputs will be isolated with UL listed circuitries that withstand 1kV during 1s.
Minimal cabling requirements and multiple power input options ensure that the transmitter can be easily incorporated into new and existing installations. One press of the front panel button is all that is required to search for and link with unallocated receivers. Operation can then begin immediately to control any fixtures that are DMX cabled to receivers. The ability to send multiple DMX universes is a real advantage for large, distributed installations.
“We saw the need for this type of system for a variety of situations,” explains Niclas Arvidsson, international sales manager for Wireless Solution. “For example, when multiple board operators split a large rig into sections, the S-2 eliminates the need for additional transmitters.”
W-DMX is the perfect solution for applications where running DMX cable is not practical. The product range has a high power radio output with up to 350mW and offers the most complete product line, from indoor to outdoor units with IP65 and Nema 6 standards. W-DMX has full support of RDM, is CE and ETSI certified in Europe and Asia, FCC certified in the Americas (awaiting UL), and is certified in Japan with ARIB STD-T66 radio standards.
W-DMX technology uses Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) and is the only system on the market using Adaptive Frequency Hopping Spread Spectrum (AFHSS) to avoid interference. The system has been hailed by critics worldwide as the number one product for interference-free wireless DMX technology, say Wireless Solution Sweden.
