Fuzion Unveils New Coemar Portfolio

The lighting division of Fuzion plc showcased a number of innovative new products from their major supplier, Coemar, on stand J30 at this year’s PLASA Show — including the Infinity Wash XL, winner of a 2007 PLASA Award for Innovation.

Innovative technology certainly dominates Coemar’s Infinity Wash XL, with three patents (two pending) for a new heat management system, a new CMY-S colour-mixing system delivering fully-saturated colours, and titanium-coated shutters — none of which have been seen inside a wash moving light before. Combine this with a new effects wheel, a zoom range from 6° - 80° (functioning in narrow beam angles, similar to ACL beams) all contained within a standard size 1200W moving-head and you have a revolutionary new product.

The new heat management system allows the new Philips 1400W MSR1200 FastFit discharge lamp (as tested on the Winter Olympics at Turin in the i-Spot eXtreme) be built into a standard 1200W size moving-head that can be dimmed via DMX from 800W up to 1400W.

Thus for the first time lighting designers are presented with an advanced wash moving-head function combined with beam and projection effects capabilities usually found in a spot moving-head — and new 360º beam shaping and beam effects. Finally, the rear load FastFit technology lamp system enables easy lamp replacement.

The Infinity Wash has quickly found favour with top lighting designers. Patrick Woodroffe specified 120 of the fixtures for use on Genesis’s recent Turn It On Again tour and incorporated a further 80 into The Police’s touring set design. These were supplied respectively by Neg Earth and Upstaging.

The latest addition to the iWash range is the iWash Halo — a light and functional moving yoke, offering 538° pan and 252° tilt beam movement, with a 16-bit user interface LED display. It is equipped with a 750W 55V (750W, 20000lm, 3200°K, 200h) halogen lamp. Other features include full CMY colour mixing system; six colours plus white on colour wheel; proportional CTB filter; full-range dimming; synchronised or random strobe effect plus blackout; Zoom from 12° to 51°. There is also a rotating filter beam shaping device for 180° shaping (par effect) and additional fresnel lens for a higher concentration of the beam. Communication protocol is standard DMX512 (and bi-directional), while all functions are available via the DR 1 remote control.

With the ParLite LED, Coemar introduced the first of a new product range utilising LED technology. The flexible ParLite LED improves colour-changing attributes and reduces power consumption; colours are generated by a convergent RGB colour system with four different built-in automatic programmes of colour-changing and fading. ParLite LED features 36 x Luxeon, 1W LED lamps (with a lamp life of 100,000 hours); full-range dimming; 10° to 110° zoom with manual adjustment of the beam in spot, medium and flood position; synchronised master/slave, and DMX 512 and bi-directional communication protocol. Effect features include electronic strobe with synchronised or random effect.

The substitution of standard lighting fixtures with those that use LED technology evolved from the ParLite LED into the PinLite LED. In this case Coemar have enabled the ubiquitous pinspot effect to be replaced with the PinLite LED; 12 multicolour LED’s, with beam convergence, guarantee infinite colour generation, strobe effect and dimming, in an extremely compact chassis.

The fixture is available as IP 20 or IP 66 (weather-proof), with XLR 3 or XLR 5 DMX connection, painted black or silver, and with beam angles of 12°, 30°, or 110°. It is also guaranteed flicker-free.

With the continuous evolution and expansion of LED’s, the lighting world is experiencing a historical change — conversion from analogue to digital. The StripLite LED has been designed as the perfect substitute for the popular halogen Ribalta, and at the same time a cyclorama projector with multicolour effects. Multicolour and white LED’s guarantee infinite colours generation, plus the possibility to obtain warm white; the body is light and solid, and the electrical consumption is considerably reduced in spite of the increased brightness.

StripLite LED also marks Ccoemar’s entry into the world of 3W LED. In fact, the product introduces new 3.2W LED’s which allow the generation and mixing of convergent colours, thanks to the RGB system inside each LED. The integration of monochromatic LED’s ensures the generation of white light, with spectral emission at 3200°K. The Striplite LED is available in lengths of 500mm (10 x LED’s), 610mm (12 x LED’s), 1000mm (20 x LED’s), 1220mm (24 x LED’s). They come with a standard reflective beam angle of 30°, which can be changed with optional ancillary lenses. The DMX-controlled Striplite is flicker-free, making it ideal for television use. All versions are available in IP66-rated versions for outdoor use.

RazorLite LED is an LED light bar designed to extend digital alternatives to standard lighting units. It is aimed at rental companies, TV studios and theatres and is available in IP20 or IP66 (weather-proof) versions. The choice of 36 x 1W Lumiled LED’s in RGB colours makes this unit the linear complement to the ParLite LED. The sum of 36 asymmetrical and superimposable light beams (12 x 24°) generates a powerful output that can be uses either as a perfect wall wash or as a powerful backlight. The Coemar philosophy in the development of the Lite LED product line is to give priority to the light while building durable products that are intended to endure the rigours of rental company use over a long period of time — and RazorLite meets this criteria. RazorLite LED is available in one-metre lengths. As with the StripLite LED, the LED is modular in the system, while the optics are interchangeable and external or internal diffusion filters can be added for various applications.
