Gaiety Theatre and Corsican Trap

The Gaiety Theatre, Douglas, Isle of Man will be hosting the local Manx Gilbert & Sullivan Society for their forthcoming production of Ruddygore from Wednesday 24th to Saturday 27th October 2007. As part of the production they will be using the theatre’s world famous Corsican Trap. This will be the first time in seven years since its use in any show and along with many other traps being used it is bound to be a feast for all those interested in original theatre technology.

There are no official package or offers available, but if any of our readers felt the desire to see the production please make contact with the theatre and the management will endeavour to assist with any arrangements. It is also hoped that technical manager Mervin Stokes will present his very popular theatre tour on Saturday 27th October, to coincide with this rare use of the Corsican Trap. There will also be demonstrations of the trap for any aficionados that may be interested. Places on the tour are limited and it is on a first come first served basis.
